Mutual Aid Societies are collectives of individuals who come together in a community for solidarity and mutual support. Such groups can exist for many different purposes, including relief after natural disasters or support in the midst of COVID-19. This website gives you a wide range of information, and links to other resources, on how to start and operate your own Mutual Aid Society or connect to others currently running such groups. Please explore the different components of the website as you consider whether forming a Mutual Aid Society makes sense for you and your community and do not hesitate to send us feedback on the resources available on the site through the “Contact Us” link below. The project is a joint effort of the Albany Law School and the SUNY Albany CEHC Informatics program.
